April Newsletter OUT

Hi Girls,   the April Newsletter is out.   I haven't learnt how to post it to the Blog yet, but am working on it!   See you all at the meeting on Monday, April 8th.   Looking forward to a great trunk show.

In the meantime, Theresa, Jean, Kathrine and I are heading down to Morrisburg to do our Trunk SHow on April 2nd.!   It's going to be a great one too.  I've borrowed two FABULOUS applique quilts to add to our lot.   Sandy and Charlotte have kindly allowed us to bring along a sample of their talent.   Since the Morrisburg group loves applique, this will really impress them.

Keep on stichin'  Pat K.

Working on my own Log Cabin quilt, and will post a picture of it soon.  This one is giving me some inspiration, Of course anything with blue in it is atttractive to me!

Sample of Weekender Bag - WORKSHOP

Here are three samples of the Weekender Bag.  More details about this workshop will be available at the March meeting, but I do know that it requires that you do a bit of preparation before the day.   These three bags belonged to women who attended the Wadhams Girls Retreat in Ogdensburg in January.

This bag was made from one piece of fabric that was quilted in a cross hatch pattern.   It has nylone handles and a zipper in the front.  The side pockets are open for easy storage.

This bag was made out of 2 1/2 inch strips.  They were put together using the quilt-as-you-go method.
The finished bag is large enough to carry everything you need for a weekend, or longer if you are a careful about coordinating your wardrobe!

This is the sample from the Workshop with Michele Gagne.  Fourteen members took the workshop and pictures of their finished quilts will appear here  soon.

Happy Scrappy Sampler - DONE!

Happy Scrappy Sampler
This is my finished wall hanging from the Gisele Gagne Workshop.
I changed the pattern a bit since I had enough fabric to do more than one of each block.  This was a very helpful class and I;m going to be using some of the techniques again.  Pat Kiteley
